Surf Ranch Tamarindo is a nine-room hotel on Tamarindo Beach Road in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The main surf break is across the public road, so you can stay close to the beach without planning a drive for every session. Leave the hotel, cross the road carefully and use the beach access. Our location is across from the beach, rather than directly on the sand. Choose this base when your trip revolves around surfing, breakfast nearby and exploring Tamarindo on foot.
Choose the right room for your surf trip
Traveling alone or as a couple? Queen rooms have one queen bed for up to two guests. Twin rooms offer two single beds for friends sharing a room. For a group of up to four, compare the family room with a queen and bunk bed against the suites with two queen beds. All rooms include air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a private bathroom. Select your dates and complete guest count to see which rooms are available and the final booking total.
Board storage and an outdoor shower
Bring your own board or arrange one locally before you arrive. The hotel has surfboard rack storage and an outdoor shower for your return from the beach. Ask us about your board and arrival plans ahead of time, particularly if you are also arranging an airport transfer with equipment. These practical facilities are part of staying at the hotel; a surfboard, wetsuit, rash guard or lesson is not automatically included with a room reservation.
Arrange a board or instructor before arrival
We do not operate our own surfboard rental service or employ surf instructors. We can help connect you with an independent board provider or instructor before your stay. Send your travel dates, experience level, number of surfers and whether you need equipment. Confirm the price, meeting place, lesson duration and included equipment with the provider. This lets you plan a flexible surf holiday while keeping your accommodation and surf arrangements separate.
Breakfast and a simple beach routine
Breakfast at Café 13 beside the hotel is included from 8 to 10 am. Plan lessons around that window if you want breakfast before heading out, or check your return time for an early session. After the beach, rinse off, leave your board in the rack and return to your air-conditioned room. Lunch, dinner, tours and transport are separate.
